Welcome to Central City Boxing & Barbell Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Springfield Police Officer Dean Fay. Located in the Old Hill neighborhood of Springfield, our 6,000-square-foot training facility is dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through structured programs that prioritize character development and education. Our mission is to utilize boxing, weight training, and performance-based athletic programs to help young individuals develop physical, mental, and emotional strength while inspiring teamwork and supporting them in reaching their full potential.

Central City Boxing & Barbell collaborates with dedicated volunteers and graduate interns from Springfield College’s Exercise Science Program to provide a comprehensive range of activities to over 100 youth members. Our holistic approach emphasizes not only the development of athletic skills but also essential life skills, creating a well-rounded foundation for future success. We believe in promoting personal growth and development, striving to help our members achieve their goals and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Founded with the vision of offering structured programs to at-risk youth, Central City Boxing & Barbell aims to teach the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance. Through the support of the community and corporate sponsors, we have created a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals and families can train, grow, and achieve their goals in the sport of boxing. Our experienced trainers, comprehensive programs, and supportive community make us a leading provider of quality boxing training, known for our commitment to helping individuals of all ages develop their skills and stay fit in a positive environment.
