Founded in 2003, Danbury Community Center, operated by CIFC, is a vital 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization deeply rooted in the heart of Downtown Danbury. With a focus on individuals and families at all stages of life, CIFC Health stands out as the only Teaching Health Center in Connecticut, providing comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral care on a sliding fee scale. CIFC Health serves over 15,000 patients annually, offering specialized care for pediatric to geriatric patients, including a women’s clinic and nutritional support programs for new mothers and young children. Through the Head Start and Early Head Start initiatives, CIFC ensures high-quality early education opportunities for families who may face barriers to accessing such programs. Additionally, the organization manages the Beaver Street Apartment Complex, providing affordable housing options overseen by HUD to more than 300 residents.
