The Dunham Student Activity Center (DSAC) at Fontbonne University is a vibrant hub of athletic and fitness activities, dedicated in March 1993. Spanning 38,000 square feet, the DSAC boasts a spacious gymnasium seating 1,800 individuals, named in honor of former university President Dr. Meneve Dunham. This state-of-the-art facility houses the Mabee Gymnasium, Dr. Lee McKinney Court, athletic training facilities, Anheuser-Busch running track, aerobics studio, and the DSAC Cafe, providing a comprehensive range of amenities for students, faculty, and staff.
The Atteln Family Fitness Center, situated within the DSAC, offers a well-equipped space on the first floor of the Medaille building. Renovated in 2022-23, this fitness center features cardio equipment, squat/bench racks, and free weights, catering to the diverse fitness needs of the university community. Accessible at no cost to students, faculty, and staff, the center provides a convenient and modern environment for individuals to pursue their fitness goals, with towels provided and ID card verification required for usage.
Central to the DSAC is the Mabee Gymnasium and Dr. Lee McKinney Court, paying tribute to Coach McKinney’s legacy as the inaugural head men’s basketball coach and athletic director. Hosting basketball and volleyball teams, this dynamic space accommodates approximately 1,500 spectators and is complemented by the Anheuser-Busch indoor track, Athletic Office, DSAC Cafe, and Aerobics Studio. The DSAC stands as a testament to Dr. Dunham’s fundraising efforts, enriching the Fontbonne campus with a multifaceted facility that fosters athletic excellence and community engagement.
