Hutzell Athletic Center is a premier sports facility serving as the home for Cougars basketball and volleyball, along with providing top-notch locker room facilities for various sports teams including men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, softball, cross-country, and track and field. The center also houses offices for the coaching staff on the second floor, west side, and the renowned Hutzell Fitness Center. Since its opening in May 1990, HAC has been a hub for athletic excellence and development.
With a rich history dating back to its inaugural basketball game in November 1990 where USF triumphed over IPFW, Hutzell Athletic Center has continuously evolved to meet the needs of its athletes and coaching staff. A significant $200,000 renovation project in August 2008 saw the relocation of coaches’ offices to the second floor of the west end, alongside the expansion of locker room and training facilities. This commitment to improvement and growth underscores HAC’s dedication to providing a world-class sporting environment for its teams and members.
