The Mizzou Athletics Training Complex (MATC) is a state-of-the-art facility that serves as the daily home to the Tiger Football program, offering one of the top comprehensive training environments in the nation. Opened in 2008 at a cost of $16 million, the complex spans over 101,000 square feet, nearly doubling the space of the previous facility. It provides a complete “one-stop shopping” experience for Tiger football student-athletes, catering to their athletic and academic needs.
The Onofrio Team Room within the MATC is a cutting-edge team meeting facility named after former Tiger coaching great Al Onofrio. With seating for over 150 people, the room is equipped with video, DVD, and computer presentation capabilities, along with surround sound. The Yeckel Training Center, located at the heart of the complex, offers 13,000+ square feet of workout space with the latest equipment for year-round strength and conditioning training. The center also features a Sports Nutrition Oasis to support athletes with NCAA-compliant nutrition and hydration.
The Sells Family Dining Hall, part of the MATC, expanded in 2008 to over 9,200 square feet, providing spacious accommodations for Mizzou student-athletes. The dining hall offers a variety of specialized cooking stations and nutritious meal options to meet the physical demands of the athletes. Working in collaboration with strength and conditioning coaches, the dining services staff ensures that the menus are designed to be low in fat and high in protein. The facility also caters to recruits, families, and special events, emphasizing a commitment to providing top-notch dining experiences for all visitors.
