Detailed Information

Napa Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) is a community-based crime prevention program that focuses on providing quality activities for children under the supervision and constructive influence of law enforcement. Established in 1992 by Napa County Sheriff’s Deputies, SAL aims to develop discipline, self-esteem, mutual trust, and respect among the youth of the community. As part of the National Association of Police Activities Leagues, Napa SAL is dedicated to offering recreational, educational, and skill-building programs to help young individuals explore positive life alternatives and set meaningful goals for their futures.

Initially centered around volunteerism and supporting existing programs like boxing, Napa SAL quickly expanded its offerings to include a variety of activities for the local youth. Over the years, the organization has grown to require the assistance of community volunteers to continue its mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people. Operating out of a 10,000 square-foot facility located on the grounds of Napa State Hospital, SAL offers or supports programs that promote physical fitness, education, and personal development.

With a rich history of successful crime prevention strategies and community engagement, Napa SAL remains committed to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the youth of Napa County. By creating a common meeting ground for these two groups, SAL continues to make a significant impact on the lives of children by offering them opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive and encouraging environment.
