Detailed Information

Rob Knight’s Swim America (RKSA) was founded in 1992 with a strong emphasis on teaching individuals of all ability levels, from Baby Seals to Adults, the essential skills needed to be safe in and around water for a lifetime. The program prioritizes safety by requiring swimmers to pass a swim test before progressing to learning fundamental techniques such as floating and kicking. The ultimate goal is for swimmers to master the four standard swim strokes – Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly – and become proficient in swimming a minimum of 300 yards freestyle, ensuring they are safe and competent swimmers.

Since its inception, RKSA has successfully taught thousands of young children how to swim, initially starting with just 14 customers and later expanding to a larger facility at Four Seasons 1. The business is owned and operated by Rob and Chris Knight, who have dedicated themselves to upholding the high standards set by the national Swim America program. With a team of over 18 professionally trained staff members, RKSA ensures that all instructors are CPR and First Aid certified, equipped with the latest teaching methods, and hold Level I ASCA teaching certification to provide top-quality swim lessons.

Under the leadership of Laura Hutchins, who joined as the Lessons Program Director in May 2022, RKSA continues to offer a comprehensive learn-to-swim program that follows a structured progression plan developed by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). In addition to meeting the rigorous standards set by Swim America, RKSA has implemented additional requirements to enhance the learning experience for students. By focusing on safety skills, stroke mastery, and continuous improvement, RKSA remains committed to helping individuals become confident and proficient swimmers.
