SWLA Fitness Center, formerly known as Bayou Comprehensive, is a non-profit community-based organization founded in 1978. Over the past four decades, the center has expanded to four locations in Louisiana, offering comprehensive medical, dental, mental health, and specialty healthcare services. Under the leadership of CEO William Brent III, SWLA Fitness Center has grown to over 200 employees and an annual budget of approximately $17 million. The flagship health center in Lake Charles boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a fitness center, medical laboratory, pharmacy, and health education classrooms.

The center operates under a patient-centered approach and has been accredited by the Joint Commission of Health care Organization since 2006.
