Thornton Gymnasium is a renowned sports facility that serves as the home for the Spartan men’s and women’s basketball, as well as the men’s and women’s volleyball programs. The gymnasium, originally constructed in 1967, underwent a significant renovation in the summer of 2014 to its current state. Notably, on November 11, 2016, Aurora University honored a long-time Hall of Fame basketball coach by naming the playing surface in Thornton Gymnasium “Lancaster Court.”
