Alaska Boxing Academy is dedicated to promoting the physical and emotional well-being of youth and adults through the sport of boxing. With a focus on safety and cleanliness, the academy follows strict sanitizing protocols and CDC guidelines to ensure a secure environment for all participants. The program emphasizes physical fitness, academics, and boxing instruction, aiming to instill values such as discipline, commitment, self-confidence, and respect for self and others.
Under the leadership of program director and head coach David Carey, a former USA Boxing athlete and member of the 2008 Olympic Boxing Team, Alaska Boxing Academy provides a nurturing space for individuals to develop essential life skills. With certified USA Boxing coaches and a fully equipped facility, participants receive training in general physical fitness, fundamental boxing techniques, and behavioral expectations both inside and outside the ring. The academy prepares individuals for local, national, and international boxing competitions based on their personal goals.
Through a blend of boxing training and mentorship, Alaska Boxing Academy aims to empower young adults to make positive decisions and contribute to their families and communities. With a strong focus on youth development and drug and alcohol prevention, the academy strives to create a supportive and controlled environment where participants can grow physically, emotionally, and socially. By fostering a love for boxing and instilling valuable life lessons, the academy sets out to create a generation of physically and emotionally healthy individuals.
