Stephens Family YMCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Christian principles through programs that foster a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all individuals. Their Annual Campaign raises funds to provide scholarships for those in need, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive at the Y. The YMCA focuses on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, offering a wide range of programs designed to support children at all developmental levels and their families.
Larkin’s Place, a key initiative of Stephens Family YMCA, is a community resource center created to cater to children and adults with disabilities. Inspired by Larkin Murphy, who was born with Down syndrome and later diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, Larkin’s Place aims to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals of all abilities. Through accessible spaces, acceptance, and diverse programming, Larkin’s Place encourages individuals to achieve therapeutic and developmental goals, improve skills, and build lasting friendships across all barriers.
Founded with a vision of inclusivity and community support, Stephens Family YMCA, in partnership with Larkin’s Place, offers a warm and inviting space for individuals with various needs, including those with disabilities, the elderly, wounded warriors, and individuals in recovery. By fostering a sense of understanding and unity among individuals of different backgrounds and abilities, the YMCA serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, embodying the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.
